We recently ventured across Germany to participate in the Cityleaks Urban Art Festival that takes place every two years in Köln. The festival theme, which is “driven by the motivation to reclaim space for artistic creation within the public realm as well as to make it accessible for everyone” really hits home to us and we were excited to take part in their “Interacting Day” on Friday, September 13.
It was great to expand the project into a new setting and find new depth to it. We saw ourselves as encouraging people to look at their immediate environments with new eyes, taking time to slow down and observe our actual surroundings. We moved around the city from the Rheinauhafen to the Cathedral while stopping at several plazas: delighting and confusing people along the way.
Here is a link to some photos and a short description in German from a local paper.
More photos and video on the way!
